Multipoint Door Locks

A multipoint lock is the full strip mechanism running down the edge of a uPVC or composite door, locking at several points at once. If the door will not lock or the handle has become stiff, the gearbox or mechanism may need replacing.

We stock genuine mechanisms and gearbox centre cases from Fuhr, GU and Winkhaus.

Buying Guide

Identifying your multipoint lock

Match three key measurements: the backset (faceplate edge to keyhole centre), the PZ (spindle-to-cylinder centres, usually 92mm) and the overall length, plus the locking points (hooks, rollers, deadbolts).

  • Backset is commonly 35mm or 45mm
  • PZ is most often 92mm
  • If only the centre case has failed you can often replace just the gearbox

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I replace just the gearbox?

Often yes. If the locking points still work but the handle will not engage, the centre-case gearbox can be swapped. Match the backset, PZ and lift or lever direction.

What are backset and PZ?

Backset is the distance from the faceplate edge to the centre of the keyhole. PZ is the distance between the spindle and cylinder centres.

How do I know which brand I need?

Check the faceplate markings, or send us a clear photo with your measurements and we will identify it.
